Picture-perfect brows – brushed-out, full-looking, extremely defined – is a beauty trend that has been in for a few seasons and is going to last much longer. Thick brow arches look lovely and youthful unless you manage to create natural, not exaggerated effect. You don’t know how to fill in your brows? Let us share our makeup hacks to make your brows fleek!
How to fill in eyebrows? Flawless makeup guide
1. Eyebrow powder
A great option for pretty thick and shapely brows that need nothing but definition and when you want to make your makeup bolder. A powder subtly fills sparse areas. Applied skillfully, it gives a very natural effect.
There are brow powders available in one color: pressed and captured in a tiny box or in the form of a pencil with spongy tip with the powder. You can also have them in a set – small or big palette featuring a clear wax and two or more shades of powder. Before applying the powder, you need to groom and brush the hairs, and smooth some wax over (use small amount so it doesn’t leave brows clumpy). Wax lets the powder adhere to the hairs, keeping them under control.
The number of colors is a sure benefit that lets us get the shade that is the most similar to our own hairs, plus we can create the ombre effect – the blend of shades gives a really natural effect. A flat, angled brush is an ideal tool for applying brow powders. Sponge applicators come in a set with some powders too (loose powders).
2. Eyebrow pen/pencil
Similarly to eye pencils, brow pencil has the lead but it is surely more precision and thinner. Eye pencils are also softer and don’t give such long-wear effect.
Eyebrow pencils keep sharp longer, give a long-lasting effect and better adherence. They let you draw the tiniest hairs whereas their consistency resembles highly-pigmented waxes or gels. A brow pen boasts even better endurance and it is similar to traditional markers you use for writing. A feather-like, soft tip allows for making hair-like strokes and adjusting the thickness of lines precisely. Unfortunately brow pen doesn’t last as long as a pomade unless you get a waterproof formula.
3. Brow pomade/wax
Pomades, tints, gels and waxes make up a group of brow fillers that have the best endurance as well as give the biggest number of possibilities because they are the most precise. They create very “realistic” hairs so you can totally change your brows’ appearance.
This group of cosmetics is also the most wanted among bloggers and Youtubers all over the world because it lets us get the dream shape of brows, literally building it from the basics. If your brows look limp and skinny, pomades and tints make a good pick, making brows look fuller. Pomades give the longest-lasting effect whereas the golden medal belongs to pomade by Anastasia Beverly Hills – known as the brow queen in the world of cosmetics. Pomades, tints and gels are applied with a precision, flat, angled brush for flawless makeup and easy application.
